When you need a guide to see the forest for the trees

A therapeutic relationship can really help you zoom out and look at your big picture. When you’re bogged down in the minutae of your life, sometimes it’s unbelievably hard to see more than what’s staring you in the face.

I offer a wide variety of approaches to therapy. Depending on where you are at, what you have experienced, and what your goals are, a combination of strategies can be useful.

Here are some quick overviews to help familiarize you with what therapy can support you with.

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT):

EFIT adapts the principles of EFCT for individual clients, helping them explore and understand their own emotional responses and patterns. This approach empowers individuals to develop a deeper connection with themselves, heal emotional wounds, and cultivate healthier relationships with others.

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT):

EFCT is a transformative approach that revitalizes relationships by focusing on emotions and attachment. Through EFCT, couples learn to recognize and address the underlying emotional patterns that influence their interactions. By fostering secure emotional bonds and improving communication, EFCT empowers couples to build stronger, more loving connections.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy:

IFS delves into the complexity of the human psyche by recognizing that we contain a multitude of inner "parts" or sub-personalities. This approach guides individuals in understanding and harmonizing these internal dynamics, leading to greater self-awareness, healing, and personal growth.

Polyvagal Theory

Polyvagal Theory is all about how our nervous system helps us respond to stress and feel safe. The vagus nerve plays a big role in controlling our reactions, like whether we stay calm, get anxious, or shut down. The theory focuses on how our body picks up signals of safety or danger and how those signals affect our emotions and overall well-being.

Narrative:

Narrative Therapy centers YOU as the one who knows the most about your own life. This process guides you through identifying your own stories, and recognizing how they impact your life, and the power you have to control them. It's an intensely personal process, with you in the driver's seat and me as Navigator to help you get through the map of your life and discover new roads to tell your story and move forward.

Somatic Approach:

The Somatic Approach recognizes the profound connection between the mind and the body. It emphasizes the role of physical sensations and movement in processing emotions and trauma. This approach allows individuals to release emotional tension stored in the body, promoting healing and a sense of well-being.
